Louis Hockman Appointed Co-Chair of ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Ethics Committee

Recently, I had a fantastic time attending the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Annual Spring Conference, the largest ADR conference globally. Held from April 10-13 in San Diego, the 2024 event was a hub for learning, networking, and inspiration.

What impressed me the most was the incredible sense of collegiality and support among attendees. Professionals freely shared resources and knowledge, leading to valuable connections worldwide. The generosity of academics in sharing teaching materials was particularly impressive. Overall, it was a wonderful gathering of professionals supporting one another without any sense of competition, reaffirming its status as a premier event in dispute resolution.

As a result of my participation, I have been selected to serve as Co-Chair of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section’s Ethics Committee. Words cannot express how honored I am by this appointment, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the advancement of ethical standards Words cannot express how honored I am by this appointment, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the advancement of ethical standards for mediators and arbitrators. I am eager to collaborate with my fellow committee members to uphold integrity, fairness, and professionalism within our profession. Together, we will strive to ensure that ethical principles remain at the forefront of our practice, promoting trust and confidence in the resolution of conflicts.
